Sharing a few progress shots from the various things currently occupying my hobby space. Some are moving forward. Some are lingering accusingly on my desk. Such is the hobby. Hobgrots Haven’t Been Painted This 20-model unit of hobgrots was supposed to be my entry for Gobsmacked, but my time management struck again and I didn’t quite finish them. Only 14 more to go! I really need to stop spending so long on each of these little dudes, but they have been a fun excuse to experiment. Fallen Dragon This dragon was going to be my Windwalkers piece, but I lost my nerve partway through and never finished it. It has been sitting on my desk ever since, patiently waiting for bravery to strike. Unfortunately, something else struck first, and the dragon snapped before I got back to it. It may have been a happy accident, though. Painting certain areas was difficult while the whole thing was assembled, so the break might actually make it easier to work on. AT-ST Model I picked this up fairly cheaply from my LGS because my wife and I have been on a bit of a Star Wars kick. It was a pain to build, and I’m still not especially confident about its structural integrity. Once I get it primed, though, I’m hoping it will be a fun larger model to experiment on. Pushing to Finish My Helsmith Army Through Baselair Challenges Y’all, it is tough out here trying to stay committed to finishing an entire Warhammer army. The Baselair challenges have been a helpful way to keep nudging my Helsmiths forward, and I’m thankful for the extra motivation. With that in mind, I’m thinking about painting one of these dudes for the Full Metal TMM challenge. And what a prize! A full set of Turbo Dork paints. Maybe if I shill hard enough, they’ll decide to send me a set for free too haha. Gameday Box I had everything packed up and was excited to bring my army to a game day at the LGS, but the plans fell through. At least the packed box became a pretty honest snapshot of my hobby progress: some finished, some half-painted, and plenty still waiting in gray. Also, can you tell I like putting stickers on things? The box may not have made it to game day, but it has definitely accumulated some personality lol. Crusty Palette Just a quick picture of the state of my dry palette before I re-prime it. It was getting difficult to remember which blobs were still wet and which ones had become permanent geological formations. I may give the wet palette another try for a while and see whether I can finally get the hang of it. I hope your hobbying has been going well this week. How do you keep your painting projects moving without spending forever on every model? I’m also all ears for any TMM tips. Thanks!
