Just wanted to post some shots of my process for how I kitbashed Orkenstein’s Monster. This was my first kitbash and I wanna encourage others who are thinking of trying their own to just go for it. I used a Bigboss, Painboy, and Weirdboy from the Armageddon launch set. It was a lot of fun once I stopped overthinking the process. Not to say this was thoughtless as there was definitely some planning, but I was scared to take action on some parts and once I let that go the process was much easier. I’m also willing to answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability. The white sculpting material you see here is Apoxie Sculpt for anyone curious.
A fairly simple conversion using mk6 tactical marines as a base. Mainly converting their bolters to represent "kraken bolters", using the scopes from the Intercessors bolt rifles, and the elongated barrels taken from spare Eliminators sniper rifles.
My Vault Krieg urban wasteland board with tinker goblin folding buildings and a gritty wasteland wood board made with various fine aquarium sands and little rocks. A truck with a Hammer Crash Through stratagem makes sense when a classic Krieg Centaur tankette is mounted on top of a Hades breaching drill to smash through buildings! - Kitbashed Vault assault truck. I forget the designer but it was something like a cyberpunk themed van, I added hinged roll cage armored shutters to the windows to make it like a Taurox.
20 years ago I got my start into tabletop wargaming. A classmate in college introduced me to Mech Warrior Dark Age and Fire for Effect (yes the WizKids clix base game). I took a Long Tom artillery unit, rebased to roll over some barbed wire made from tooth picks and floral wire, added snow effects, and kitbashed a bigger cannon on it with the barrel of a mechanical pencil. Repainted it with arctic stripe camo. After college I stopped playing tabletop games until just before Covid. At some point in between college and the pandemic, the original miniature got lost or trashed in a move. So 20 years later I decided to redo my first ever miniature and here is the result!
