This week i made MAJOR headways - every single plane is now built! Qutie the feat, 3 seasons of Breaking bad on the second monitor watched, 3 empties of the portable vaccum of plastic dust, 6 sanding sticks destroyed - but surprisingly only half a bottle of glue later... 10 planes DONE Now i better think about priming them, now ive already tested some deployments :)

What’s next?

As the 40K slow-growing league is nearing its end, I’ve started thinking of what to do next. I’ve already managed to paint almost 3,500 pts worth of Aeldari since the start. I’m projecting I should have 4,000 pts or more fully painted by the League’s end. I’ve basically been buying a Battletech box each visit to the shop and tossing it onto the pile! Been taking a bunch of online personality tests to determine which factions best fit my personality and I’ve gotten House Kurita, Clan Jade Falcon, and Wolf’s Dragoons as my merc faction. (I even took tests/quizzes to find my exact regiment in each too!) ** because I am THAT indecisive ** I’ve also settled on a 2nd 40K army as well, and am currently looking at AoS too… BUT I’m gonna need a bit of a break from Warhammer before starting those.

Flying in this week 👀 the planes have started and I made good progress, I think one more day and they’ll be ready to prime up! But I have had an intense 2 days of trying out the Warhammer Tone Pro, and you can colour me impressed with them for sure! Some tests from content and some upcoming ;) Did you try them out yet?

Last week, I did something dumb. I wrote a dumb Ork list, and through circumstances of friends and viewers helping out... I spent £600 on Ork DakkaJets... Im going to be building them and painting them to take them to a tournament (hopefully orktober but november latest) and making videos about the process, but ill be posting WIP updates excluusively here on Baselair - so if you want to follow along, you better follow to hitch a ride and be part of the airforce coming alive ;)

Armageddon Librarian WIP

WIP of my Armageddon librarian kitbashed with wolf scout skald bits. Primed with Colour Forge wolfkin grey, base coated through the airbrush with Army Painter Wolf Grey air followed with a quick volumetric highlight of 50:50 AP Wolf grey and Vallejo Game air Wolf grey. The rest of the base coats were done with citadel contrast.

40K Slow-Grow League Tier 2

Well, results for the next tier (1k pts) are in. I started off pretty good in tier one, but hit a major slump in this tier. As expected, I completely fell off the board. They only post the top 5 per Race/Faction and top 10 overall. So there may be a chance I’m still in the running for “Top Aeldari Player” but I’m not sure. (Especially if my slump continues) I do still think I’m in the runnings for “Top Painted”, as so far, there is only one other painted army in the entire league. I played against them this tier (Necrons) and they look good! I think maybe my general style, basing, and use of bold colors is going to be to my advantage. We’ve now started Tier 3, which is 1250 pts. I’m well ahead of schedule, painting wise, as I’m currently sitting on 1750 pts worth of painted Aeldari.

First project I've ever felt proud of 🙂

I have a proud moment! I did a thing! I'm so excited about this 😁 For context, I have ASD, mild Dyspraxia, PTSD and Imposter Syndrome (something I didn't believe in until my therapist explained that I struggle with it). I've never been able to feel a sense of accomplishment and I have often looked at my creative projects as complete rubbish. But I'm determined to break that thinking. A week ago, this was three sprues of unassembled model. All grey plastic and a flat, black base. Today I sat down to paint it. Every bit of paint, every speck of rust, every mound of mud. Base coat, shade and wash. I did this 😁 Introducing my Ultramarine successor chapter: Verdant Sentinels. I taught myself how to do drybrushing, brush care, proper techniques. I'm actually proud of myself for something I have done 🙂
